Space station 14 game install and run9/28/2023 ![]() ![]() Originally posted by Vincentmario:I'm very new to the game, and I'm confused about the rules of the game. Overall besides murder just ask yourself if what you're doing is going to destroy another player's fun, if yes then don't do it. If you also have a valid reason to do it and can justify you murdering one guy over, that's also a pass but that's for advanced players. I think I understand this a lot better :) So is violence considered not rule breaking as long as you don't straight up murder someone and you have an in-character reason to?Ĭommit murder as a non-antag and you're going to be asked why you done it, this will always happen and most admins are forgiving if you're new and actually respond. It is an automatic self-antag only because it made it easier for the antag to accomplish their objective which is bit cheating per not roleplaying.Įveryone can role play making Space Station 14 more fluid which generally give people's freedom to do whatever, whenever, and wherever they want. However, the rule clearly forbid hacking on high security (the room where all the weapon and equipment store at). Those actions aren't really self-antagonize but more of a role play aspect. There are gray areas that aren't important to the rule (bar fight, taking ID or people's belonging, and hacking). These players are never reprimanded, so I assume they are not breaking the server rules? If that's the case, are the official server rules wrong? To put it simply, I don't understand the extent you can break the law with actions such as attacking without it being rule breaking My confusion lies within the fact I've seen plenty of instances of normal crew members engaging in non-lethal combat such as bar fights fairly frequently. Unless you are an official antagonist then you are a normal member of the crew who's only objective is to complete their shift in their designated role" ![]() Breaking the law is not inherently self antagging, but murdering, attacking, attempting to break into high security areas etc are examples of self antagging and will get you banned. The SS14 Official Server rules say "Self antag or self antagonising is when you are NOT the antagonist which is determined at round start on traitor modes, and you go out of your way to break the law, damage the station or commit murder. I'm very new to the game, and I'm confused about the rules of the game.
